Prenatal Dentistry
Pregnancy is a time of wonderful excitement and anticipation. Like the rest of your body, your teeth and gums need extra-special care during this time. Studies show that many pregnant women develop pregnancy gingivitis. This condition occurs when increased levels of hormones cause gums to react to the plaque, resulting in inflammation and bleeding.Pregnant women who have gum disease are more likely to deliver premature, underweight babies. By improving their own oral health during pregnancy, mothers are more likely to deliver a healthy baby.
